It’s true, scarves are a must have no matter where you live.  We especially appreciate them as the evenings get cooler here in the NorthEast.

One designer we love to praise for their ingenuity of a “must-have” scarf is Me & Kashmiere.  This is our fifth season with the brand and each season it only gets better and better. This season, with the trends being so dominate, Me & Kashmiere is right there at the fore front. Here are a few highlights to share how you can wear these beauties in the hottest hues and prints.

Military

I love the subtly these prints and colors allow. Get a touch of the military trend with the use of Olive, but still have a very wearable print with the additional shades of feminine pinks and reds mixed in. Paired with a blazer and white button up, this scarf is going to be the perfect addition to your accessories closet. Want a more “traditional” military camo print? Check out these versions.

Minimalist

Skull

Skull

This is a great scarf for those of us still clinging to the motorcycle trend, yet want to show it in a more soft manner this fall.   A soft, muted tone-on-tone palette is a great way to wear the minimalist trend. Minimalist is the perfect way to describe this Skull Print Scarf.  Of course, pair it with a clean, sleek tee and dark skinny jeans and boots to carry the full look.  I myself can’t let go and will be wearing the Blush/Black version of this scarf.

Chic Chevron

Ladylike

Nothing says “Ladylike” more  than this Chic Chevron Print. With a beautiful color mix of browns and purple tones, the graphic print is undeniable.  Perfectly paired with a form fitting Shoshanna Peplum dress and pointed toe sling backs, this is a look for the ages. We love the version in blacks and greys  just as much.

Reptile Print

Animal Print

A trend that never seems to get old, it just keeps getting better.  One way to wear this continuing trend is with a scarf.  And not just any scarf, a beautiful, cashmere scarf.  Whether you prefer a Snake print, a Reptile print or maybe you prefer the Cats, the animal prints are sure to win your heart much faster than the real thing.

The Hottest Hue’s for Fall

Friday, October 8th, 2010

It’s long been thought that Summer is the time to have fun with color, but now Fall is following suite. This season designers have embraced the color wheel and the combinations are so complementary.

We love the mix of military green with the softness of lilac as with this Rebecca Taylor Ostrich Cami and Elizabeth and James Band Jacket. The raw edges of this jacket are a pefect juxtaposition to the soft, fly aways of the cami- don’t you think!

And you must admit, the use of purples and greens and greys doesn’t sound very pretty, but EDUN proves you wrong with this gorgeous silk, asymmetrical hem dress in those exact colors. We love it paired back to the Joie Coachella “must have” boot of the season (Yes, the color is called “mud”).

For a softer version, check out Shoshanna’s Snow Leopard Dress. Animal prints are taking on the new hues as well and this one is stunning – edgy, fun and really wearable. The charcoal and blush tones are perfect for next spring too!

Rebecca Taylor Shirt Dress

We also are loving a softer palettes of beige and taupe like this Rebecca Taylor Shirt dress topped off with an bold accessory or top in a punch of red or mixed with an eggplant purple.  Very chic.

We know that the collections are showing lots of greys in both heathers and charcoals, but don’t look at these colors as drab – look at them as a way to add a bit of your own favorite tones to your outfit.  I, for one, love the mix of light grey and yellow like this Elizabeth and James Tokyo top or this Sequined military green Nanette Lepore top with a casual beige sweater.

And don’t forget, a cashmere scarf from Me & Kashmiere in a seasonal color and print goes a long way to show your style.

As Seen in Vogue September: Elizabeth and James Band Jacket

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I’m not going to insult anyone by suggesting that you don’t already know how important the Military trend is to fashion this season.  Everyone is interpreting the trend in their own way which makes it not only more fun, but more interesting than some of the other hot, seasonal trends.

We all have our own individual style here at shopchantal and yes, we are all influenced by the pieces from our fabulous designers.  Obviously, so are others out there in the world.

Vogue did an amazing September issue and included in this huge issue is a great spread “Green Days” which focuses on the Military trend.  Included in this spread is Brooklyn Decker,  a gorgeous “it” girl/model is shown wearing Elizabeth and James’ Band Jacket in Olive Green which is available online at shopchantal.

We could go into a dozen different ways to wear this jacket (because we have that many, really), but we’d love to hear how you’d wear this jacket.  Let us know.  Leave a comment or send us a photo.

In the meantime, if you need some inspiration, check out our Military Influenced pieces here and pick up September issue of Vogue too- it’s worth every penny.
